About the project
East To West was the second professional music video that I was entrusted to direct. The story I wrote for the music video reflects my view of love—fleeting before our eyes, yet boundless and everlasting in the passage of time.
The biggest challenge the project faced was a 2-week production timeline, paired with my vision of a surrealistic production design that required a lot of labour.
The set design was done from scratch. The crew that I managed to assemble worked day and night to plant every flower, paint every surface, and fill a huge area of dirt to create the liveliness of a garden.
East To West was honor to receive sponsorship from Yamaha Music Vietnam. In return, I gave them my best to visually demonstrate the musical equipments in the hands of the musicians, either by introducing them in captivating wide shots, or emphasizing their design language in close-ups.
As the director and co-writer of the music, I was uniquely positioned to craft the perfect visual narrative, seamlessly blending music and imagery. This ability to harmonize both sets me apart.
East To West is generating more than 450,000 streams on Youtube, receiving ongoing support from the audience everyday.
